On January 30th, Josh ran his first half marathon. It was 18 degrees, and within the first mile of the 13 mile race, all the runners had to run through ankle deep water, thanks to a heavy rain the day before. SO... with the freezing cold temps, wearing WAY more clothing than he had planned, and soaking wet shoes and socks... he still managed to beat his goal end time. Josh Watt finished 44th overall with a time of 1:44:09, which puts him at a 7:57/mile pace. I was so impressed. I felt like I deserved a metal after cheering him on in that weather, but seriously... I couldn't believe he did so well. His full marathon is in 2 weeks, Feb 27th. We're certainly hoping for better weather.
