Josh and I were thrilled to find out on Tuesday Dec 22nd that we are going to have a son. What an amazing Christmas gift from the Lord.
"Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow." James 1:17
I wish we had a scanner at home so I could post the ultrasound... it's pretty cute. He's just chillin on his back with his legs spread open. The doctor tried to get him to roll over so that we could get a profile pic of his face, but he was just too comfortable. It was a day I'll never forget. I never knew the phrase, "and there's the penis" would bring me so many tears of joy.

The First Dance
I find it pretty funny to think about what this baby is doing inside my tummy. He or She... must LOVE to shake their booty, and thanks to their daddy... they will have some junk in the trunk to shake. I've been able to feel it moving around for the past 3 weeks or so. I believe it started about week 15 or 16. I was zoned out on the couch watching TV and I realized this bubbling sensation. I didn't notice it at first, I just assumed it was indigestion! :0 But then I realized, "I'm pregnant! That's the baby!!" I immediately called Josh and Ashlyn. It was AWESOME! And ever since then, I've been feeling it non stop. The baby especially loves the night time, that's when it's the most active. Josh felt it a few days ago finally. All I have to do is drink some cold milk and that kid gets movin! This makes being pregnant so much more fun! It's been dancing all day today.

Thanksgiving Road Trip
Josh and I had a week off for Thanksgiving break so we decided to take a road trip! There was a lot of country we had never seen before, so we took our time site seeing with the final destination being my Grandpa's house in Beaufort, South Carolina.
We stopped in Vicksburg Mississippi for coffee. That is the Mississippi River right behind me.
Walking around downtown Beaufort, SC.
Grandpa treated us to a night in Charleston, SC. What a fun place! We parked the car once and didn't get back in until we were leaving. Everything is pretty much in walking distance. We took a carriage tour since there is so much history in that town. Here we are eating She Crab Soup (not my favorite), fried Flounder, and Charleston Red Rice. It was a real treat to eat fresh fish everyday.
Back in Beaufort for Thanksgiving dinner with Grandpa and Joan. Grandpa loves to cook so we were treated to a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner... plus no clean up! I don't know how I scored that, but it was pretty sweet.

In front of their home in Beaufort.
For our last day in South Carolina, we drove to Greenville. Josh and I both loved their incredible downtown. It's not huge, but there is a lot to do. Here we are after we grabbed some coffee, walking through the downtown park. There is a suspension walking bridge that crosses over a river. Lots of people watching, coffee, food, and shopping. Such a fun place!

It was so nice to be able to spend some time with Grandpa and Joan. It was a very relaxing Thanksgiving holiday.
I enjoyed the peace and quiet... since next year should be a little different. Hope you all had a nice holiday as well!

I'm having a baby!
Sorry it's been so long since I've updated.
Josh and I are so excited that we're expecting our first little kiddo, due May 17th! We saw the doctor a few weeks ago and everything was good and healthy! We'll find out the sex around 20 weeks so you'll definitely know as soon as we do!

Wine Party
This is Rob and Jill Dunnam, some of our great friends from Union. Rob is a wine consultant so he and Jill decided to host a White Wine Party! They had about 10 of us over and we tried 15 different bottles of white wine. We learned about the country each bottle came from, the way they make that particular wine, and we talked about the different characteristics in each wine. Jill made everyone a wine journal so that we could take notes on each wine we tried plus a wine glass charm with our initials on it. Super cute!! Jill had lots of gourmet cheeses, dips and desserts for us to enjoy. It was truly one of the best evenings we had in a while. The Dunnams throw a mean party!

Rob was a fantastic host! All of us had a great time and really learned a lot.Meet Trianna
Trianna is my new friend! She is apart of Beautiful Feet Ministries here in Fort Worth. Someone from that ministry contacted our young married group letting us know that there were 3 young girls who would really benefit from having a mentor. That's how I met Trianna. She's really smart, sassy, and completely adorable. She just turned 8 and we have lots of fun together. Here are some pics from the first time we met (about 2 months ago... I'm not that prompt on blogging).
Here's Brenda with Alicia...
And Jessica with Mahaley. We celebrated Mahaley's 9th birthday by making stained glass window decorations and cupcakes! We all hit it off with our girls and plan on getting together with them once a month.

Time in AZ- Josh's Side- The Westside
Emilee, Julie, and Patrick at PoPo's Mexican Food. That is something I miss dearly about AZ... the mexican food.
Dad, Josh, and Kenny
I'll tell you what... I love my mother in law. I am really blessed. Josh and I surprised her with a visit in June and we had a great time laughing, eating, and talking like we always do. Her house is like heaven for anyone who likes to eat... like me. She's got everything and she'll cook you anything you want. I love how when we're over there we just sit around the table (or on her bed) a chat. I hope my home is always like that too.Saturday, May 23, 2009
Pics from the past month or so...
The 2009 Paschal High School ROTC Military Ball. Mr. Watt got invited to the Military Ball by a few of his students. We had a blast. I've never been to a Military Ball before and it was so fun. Very formal, lots of etiquette. Josh's students impressed me with their maturity, hard work, and commitment to ROTC. I loved being apart of this really special evening.
Stephawn, Liz, Chris and Josh.

One of Josh's students, Chris Sanchez.
Josh and Stephawn. Apparently Stephawn never had Josh as a teacher, but they met in the hall one day and became friends. Now Stephawn comes to visit Josh in his classroom just to say hi and hangout. Stephawn graduates this year and he plans to study broadcasting in college next year.
This is Richard. I met Richard last year when he was a freshman and had Josh as his math teacher. Richard is always so friendly and sweet, even though you can't tell in this pic since he's trying so hard to be tough and manly. He's one of my favorites. Very polite.
Josh and Liz. Liz graduates this year. She's such a lady.
This is Josh and his student Dora.

Monica and Dustin drove up from Houston for the weekend. He surprised her with a Westie for her birthday. This is Archie.

Our AWESOME friends from our bible study came over to our pool for a Cinco de Mayo party. We finished our Ecclesiastes study and then hung out by the pool.
We tried to save some money and groom Charlie ourselves. It's totally worth the $45.
Josh and Maggie taught together last year and she's become a friend to both of us. And boy does she know how to party! This was a huge bash to celebrate her horse's 8th birthday. She lives on the lake in Granbury, TX.
